About Villa Loriana
Villa Loriana sits on 30 private acres in San Luis Obispo, midway between Los Angeles and San Francisco, near the ocean, vineyards, and oak groves. We are a family-owned and operated estate founded by Rob and Lori Gillespie. Our first wedding took place in 2013 under a tent. After a fire destroyed those early structures, our family rebuilt with a bigger vision. Villa Loriana is a San Luis Obispo wedding venue with its stone turret and arched windows; it was completed in 2018.
The Grounds Set the Tone Early
Before guests reach the reception, they move through landscaped grounds framed by water and oak trees. Our park lawn gives wedding parties room for lawn games such as bocce and horseshoes while providing space for photos and guest gatherings. A stone pergola draped in wisteria marks the ceremony site, creating an elegant architectural backdrop before guests continue to The Pavilion for cocktail hour.
Cocktail Hour at the Pavilion
Our cocktail hour space, The Pavilion, is surrounded by stone arches, vines, and water spouts built into the surrounding stonework. It gives guests a dedicated space to gather between the ceremony and reception.
Reception Inside the Villa
Once the doors open to the villa ballroom, our built-in bar and kegerator provide a dedicated space for beverage service.
Wine, beer, and spirits may be served through a licensed bartender. Our catering patio and indoor Butler’s Pantry provide refrigeration, sinks, prep areas, and other infrastructure for event service. Guests will find restrooms in multiple locations throughout the villa, with a separate staff restroom in the catering area.
A Weekend, Not Just a Day
One thing that sets our venue apart is the opportunity to stay onsite as part of your wedding weekend. Wedding packages include accommodations for up to 18 guests across four onsite accommodations: the Sorrento, Toscana, and Baldini Suites, plus the detached Cottage. The Baldini Suite also serves as a dedicated getting-ready space, with full-length mirrors, hair and makeup chairs, a kitchenette, and convenient access to the large shared kitchen for pre-event meals. The Cottage is tucked among oak trees and features a wrap-around porch and private patio with a fire pit. The west-facing windows in the Sorrento and Toscana Suites provide sunset views.
Catering and Vendors, Your Way
We maintain an open vendor policy, and outside catering is welcome. Outside vendors are approved on a case-by-case basis and must meet our insurance, licensing, and other requirements. A full bar can be served through a licensed bartender. Our onsite rental inventory includes cross-back chairs with cushions, farmhouse tables, round tables, custom-built bars,s and elevated umbrellas, giving couples additional options for bringing their vision together.
Room for Everyone You Love
With capacity for up to 300 guests for both ceremony and reception, Villa Loriana can accommodate celebrations ranging from intimate gatherings to large weddings. Paved parking accommodates up to 90 vehicles, with additional parking available for vendors.
